Katie and Austin
I have to be honest…I am a slacker!! I haven’t posted a blog post in MONTHS! So I’m so excited to be sharing this Utah State Capitol formal session with you!
When I found out Katie was getting married I was SO excited!!! I have known Katie since she was born. I went and visited her in the hospital on the day she was born, babysat her and her sister, went to her birthday parties, spent time at our cabin with her, and taught her how to play Truth or Dare (I got in a lot of trouble for that one)!
I waited and waited for her to call me about taking pictures for her and when she called, I immediately said yes! We decided to go to the Utah State Capitol to use their beautiful rotunda and stay out of the freezing 20-degree weather!
When I met Austin I could see that he truly loved Katie! They said the same words at the same time and finished each other’s sentences! Earlier that morning Katie got pampered a little bit by getting her makeup done by Jess Casperson, a MaskCara makeup artist (find her here! She is AMAZING, you should definitely give her a call if you need to have your makeup done). She looked amazing and I could tell that Austin agreed! He couldn’t (more like wouldn’t) stop looking at her!
As I guided Austin to the spot where we would do their first look I talked with him a bit and we started warming up to each other. We watched family pictures happening all around us, joked about how he and Katie would have to be put 2 steps above everyone because they are so short, and talked about wedding details. When Katie was ready I got them both in position and when she said his name and he turned around, the biggest smile spread across his face!! She looked so beautiful he immediately went to her and wrapped her in a hug.
We spent the time taking pictures and I convinced Katie to go outside and promised her I wouldn’t let her dress drag on the ground. It was cold but so worth it!! There was a little bit of sun peaking through the clouds giving us just a little bit of glow!
I worked as fast as I could so they wouldn’t turn red from the cold! We decided to drive down to the Oquirrh Mountain LDS Temple to take some pictures as that is where they will be getting married and I swear, it dropped 10 degrees! It was so cold there but we took some beautiful shots and I tried to go as fast as I could!
I hope you love these pictures as much as I do!!
