This year has been CRAZY! Can I get an AMEN? One thing I look forward to every year is the Shoot and Share Contest and this year was no exception! The beautiful images I see in the shoot and share contest each year inspire me to be better and I get sucked into voting every year! haha Throughout the year, as I edit your photos, I keep a file folder on my desktop for the best of the best so I can easily get to them for the contest! This year, I had 2 of my images place in the top 30% of their category. I find it interesting to see what images go far each year and this year it was the wedding details, specifically rings!

Top 30% – Wedding Details

This beautiful image of Meg’s engagement ring sits in the Top 30% of all wedding detail images that were submitted and it took some setting to get it to sit the way it is. The wind was blowing and the sun was shining. Imagine me sitting on the ground trying to get the wind to stop for just one second so I could get her ring set and get the shot! It took a few tries to get it just right but it came out perfectly! As I’m working on this blog post, I realize I never blogged Meg’s Bridal Session!! That MUST and WILL be rectified! But in the meantime, you can look at their beautiful wedding!

Top 20% – Wedding Details

I love shooting the details at weddings! Rings can seem so plain and boring but they are one of my favorite things to shoot! Stacking rings together takes such care and finesse and Cecilia and Stephens rings stacked together beautifully! I held my breath and tried to get the perfect shot (as if holding my breath is going to help). This is one of my favorite wedding detail images I have EVER taken!

This year looks a little different and my images for next year’s contest will probably be mostly personal photos (DANG YOU COVID!) but, I’m not looking forward to it any less!
