Get Prepared – Family Information Binder

Social Distancing and Earthquakes...OH MY!!

We’ve been through a lot these past few weeks from COVID-19 Social Distancing to an Earthquake and it’s only going to continue. It’s time for all of us to get prepared for emergencies. If you were told you needed to leave your home right now, would you be prepared? Would you know exactly where your emergency bags and sensitive documents are? Would you be able to grab them in minutes and go? I hope the answers to these questions are yes. If they’re not, I’m here for you!

Let’s get prepared together!

I have a Family Binder Printable here for you to download and use however you need. I am one of those people in this world who will think of the worst things and then come up with a plan to combat it. In this binder, I have listed everything I can think of when it comes to our family that might help in case of an emergency.

Family Binder - Emergency Preparedness

  • Basic Information: This is the section for a quick glance at the basic family info if needed.
  • Important Phone numbers: Holds all family and close family friend’s phone numbers.
  • Personal Pages: Each member of the family has a personal page with a current picture, and information on height, weight, hair and eye color, blood type, etc.
  • Warranty and Serial Numbers: This keeps a list of all of the electronics serial numbers in your home and any warranty information for them.
  • Passwords, Bank Accounts, Retirement: This keeps a list of Accounts, Usernames, and Passwords for any accounts you have. (I always worry that I’m going to die and I’m the only person who knows the password to the amazon account haha)
  • I own a business (as you know) and I have a page of just information for my business usernames and passwords as well.

Preparation is key to having less anxiety

This binder is meant to keep all of your important documents together in one place. Here’s a list of things that you should consider putting in this binder:

  • SSN cards
  • Birth certificates
  • Marriage certificates
  • Car titles
  • Immunization records
  • Copy of family photos on CDs or Jump Drive
  • Passports
  • Checkbooks for bank accounts
  • Anything very special (I have my kids first hospital bands in there)
  • Warranty and receipts for jewelry
  • Receipts for large purchases (Wedding Dress for example)

Family Binder - Emergency Preparedness

I made this printable to be smaller as we don’t have a lot of room to store things so you’ll need to get a 8.5 x 5.5 Binder and 5×7 sheet protectors to put the pages in. Download the Publisher file below and fill in your information and pictures, then print, and fill that binder! As a result, you’ll have a big binder full of all of your vital information for an emergency and hopefully, it will help you feel prepared if you have to leave your home immediately!
