Jake and Alyson | Molina, CO
This weekend I was so honored to be able to be the photographer for my beautiful cousin’s wedding!! Get ready for the cutest couple and most amazing DIY teal and burlap wedding ever! If you haven’t heard the story of Alyson and Jake’s proposal you should go check out their engagement session and gush over it like I did when it was told to me!
It all started when Aly and Jake met at a PA conference in 2014. They chatted a bit there and went on their first date to sushi and pool about a week later. They purchased 63 acres of BEAUTIFUL land together to build a home and life on! They got engaged on their beautiful land and started planning their amazing life together!
When I met up with Alyson on her wedding day she was spending time with her awesome bridesmaids, eating breakfast, and having a great time! They turned on some music and started getting pumped for the beautiful day that was about to come! As I sat with Alyson you could see the excitement on her face! As she finished her makeup you could see on her face that it was becoming more real that she was getting married today!!!
She brought out her dress, veil, and other details out and I started to get more and more excited about the fact that I got to be her photographer!! She showed me her AMAZING turquoise jewelry and told me that it was passed down from her Great Grandmother from her father’s side! I was amazed at how beautiful it was and what good shape it was in for being so old! She told me that Jake was going to wear his Grandfather’s watch as well! Even though these people had passed on years ago Jake and Aly were able to honor them on their wedding day!
Alyson and I had talked about her timeline, decorations, flowers, and so much more over the past 6 months and it was finally here and coming together beautifully!
The ceremony took place in a field on their beautiful Ranch. And, as I watched Alyson walk down the aisle I knew that she and Jake were going to be such a great husband and wife. They have been through so much together and they were finally becoming husband and wife! Alyson’s Aunt Deborah officiated their wedding and had a book to hold that was made by Alyson’s brothers! As the ceremony continued you could clearly see the love that Jake and Alyson share for each other. They laughed, cried, and laughed again with each other as they spoke to each other. After they were announced as husband and wife the turned to walk down the aisle and the guests tossed Aspen leaves that were gathered from a tree in her mother’s backyard!
As the night continued Alyson and Jake spent no time away from each other! They gravitated towards each other like magnets! We ate tacos and cheesecake, they danced, threw the bouquet, and Jake was busted for not taking the garter off with his teeth! 😉 The night was beautiful and I was so blessed to be a part of it!
Thank you for asking me to be your photographer! I am so honored and blessed that you asked that of me! I hope that you love your images as much as I do!
Even though Alyson brought her wedding view to life (can you say DIY queen?!) we couldn’t have completely done with without these amazing vendors!!
